We are very excited about FTTC 2025! Our theme for this year is: That You May Know – 1 John 5:13. Our topical class, taught by Erynn Sprouse, will cover Christian apologetics. For an hour each morning our campers will have the opportunity to study an array of evidences that help us KNOW that God does exist, He did make the universe in six literal days, the Bible is His inspired Word, and Jesus was, and is, exactly who He claimed to be.
Our textual class this year will be the book of Daniel, taught by Kristy Huntsman. Throughout this study the campers will learn practical Bible study skills as Kristy guides them through an in-depth study of Daniel’s life, and how it applies to us today. Kristy will give particular emphasis to Daniel’s visions and the incredible imagery they contain.
Teaching I (for beginning campers) taught by Shari Moxley, will give our girls practical, hands-on instruction in how to effectively plan, prepare and teach Bible classes for children. Shari will guide our campers through each step of studying their topic, making it age-appropriate, and teaching in a way that engages their students while keeping the focus on God’s word. This class will also offer instruction in areas such as maintaining discipline in a Bible classroom, and working in partnership with parents as a Bible class teacher to promote the spiritual growth of the tender hearts entrusted to us as Bible class teachers. At the end of the week each camper will present a Bible class to the other campers and the teachers.
Teaching II (for experienced campers) taught by Re’Elle Crowell, will build on the concepts learned in Teaching I. Re’Elle will guide the girls through effectively exegeting their text, and putting their study into a lesson format that could be used to teach at a ladies’ day or girl’s devotional. The girls will learn the basics of Bible study, as well as lesson preparation and delivery. At the end of the week, each Teaching II camper will present an 7-8 minute lesson based on a text focusing on various relationships we see in Scripture.
Visuals Lab, taught by Kathy Petrillo, is a time of hands-on training where Kathy will guide our girls through creating visual aids for their lessons. Each camper will create a visual aid to accompany their lesson that will be theirs to keep and use for years to come. Kathy will share with these young ladies various ways that visual aids can be used to reinforce their Bible classes in ways that will help the children remember the spiritual truths they have learned and apply them to their lives.
Our campers will also have dedicated time in our research lab with Ena Savage where they will learn how to use study tools such a lexicons and concordances. Additionally they will have the opportunity to use online resources such as Blue Letter Bible that can help them gain a deeper understanding of Scripture. During this time they will focus on studying a particular text which they will use as the basis for their Bible class and/or lesson at the end of the week.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a part of FTTC is watching the tremendous growth of our campers each year. We truly believe that our campers are some of the finest Christian young women around, and being able to invest in their spiritual growth year after year is a privilege that we hold dear. If you have a young lady between the ages of 13-18 who would love to learn how to engage in deep Bible study, and in turn share that study with others, a young lady who would benefit from deep and meaningful relationships with like-minded Christian young women, then this is the camp for you!
